Glow For Good

A volunteer-led, bi-annual beauty sale that raises vital funds for various charities and communities across the UK. Founded and run by beauty journalists and content creators Laura Capon and Lucy Partington, the initiative is based in South London. Their goal is to prevent waste, share their love of beauty products, and give back to those in need.

After receiving an overwhelming number of products during the pandemic and with limited storage space, Laura and Lucy hosted their first beauty sale in December 2020. Held in Laura’s parents’ front garden, the sale raised £1,800. Fast forward five years, and it has grown into something bigger than they ever imagined. To date, they’ve raised over £100,000, which has been donated to various charities across the UK.

How it started

Laura and Lucy are friends and beauty journalists with over a decade of experience in the industry. They have written for leading magazines, newspapers, and websites, including Cosmopolitan, GLAMOUR UK, ELLE UK, British Vogue, The Telegraph, and The Independent. In addition, they have collaborated with global beauty brands such as CeraVe, Tatcha, Nip+Fab, The Inkey List, Sephora, Glossier, Makeup by Mario, and e.l.f. Cosmetics

How the beauty sale donations have made an impact

“Thanks to your extremely generous donation, 80 of our seniors were able to spend a fabulous Christmas Day with us last year – rather than being at home on their own, and that’s just the beginning of what Lucy and Laura’s kindness has helped us to enable!” Not Home Alone, Grimsby

“Your donation has enabled us to purchase new garden furniture and specialised outdoor equipment for Osbourne Court, a charity that offers short breaks for adults with physical or learning difficulties in order to provide respite care for their families.” Osbourne Court, Malvern

“We’ve bought teddies for children arriving at domestic violence refuges and new school bags for children from extremely low-income families in the UK, and you've helped create magical memories for children facing adversity. We’re so grateful for your support.” Spread Some Sunshine
